Neuartiges Borneo Mandau, jk01

 

Dies ist ein neuartiges Borneo Schwert, genannt Mandau. Die gerade Klinge ist aus Stahl und weist auf einer Seite goldfarbene Verzierungen auf, u. a. die Bezeichnung KAL-TIM (Kalimantan Timur = Ost – Borneo).

 

Die Scheide ist aus leichtem und an den Enden rot bemaltem Holz. An der Seite befindet sich eine Tasche für ein kleines Messer und eine Kordel aus Bast zum Tragen des Mandau. Der Griff ist aus rot braunem Holz mit einem Haarschweif.

 

Die Klinge ist 43,60 cm lang, die Gesamtlänge beträgt 65,60 cm. Das Gesamtgewicht beträgt 510 Gramm.

 

 

New Borneo Mandau, jk01

 

This is a new Borneo sword, called Mandau. The straight blade is made from steel and you find some golden coloured ornaments on one side including KAL-TIM (Kaliamantan Timur = East Borneo).

 

The sheath is made from light wood which is red coloured on both ends of it. On one side there is a bag for a small knife and a phloem cord to wear the weapon. The hilt is made from red brown coloured wood with a hair tail.

 

The length of the blade is about 17 1/8 inches (43.60 cm) and the total length about 25 7/8 inches (65.60 cm). The total weight is 510 grams.
