Raffles, Sir Thomas Stamford

was a lieutenant general of the English army and governor of the island of Java. He wrote the book "History of Java". The book was published in 1817 and you can read many about krisses. Raffles lived from 1781 to 1826.

Sir Stamford Raffles

Raga Pasung

is the Dapur of a keris and one of the Keris Kalawijan because it has 15 Luk. The Gandik is simple, it has Tikel Alis and Greneng. There  are also krisses without Greneng. It is a rare Dapur and it is also called Rangga Pasung.

Raga Wilah

or Rangga Wilah is a Dapur of a keris with 15 Luk. thus one of the Keris Kalawijan. The blade length is normal, it has Ada-Ada, Kembang Kacang, Jenggot, one Lambe Gajah, Greneng or even Ri Pandan.

Raga Wulung

or Rangga Wuwung is the Dapur of a keris Kalawijan which is very rare. The blade is quite thick and has 27 Luk. The Ricikan are little, there is only one simple Gandik

Rahtama

is a pamor that always appears on the Soru-Soran of a keris or Tombak. It belongs to pamor Tiban, it is between Wos Wutah and Pulo Tirta or other types of pamor Mlumah. This pamor is good to own for newlywed couples if they want to have children.

Raja Gundala

is a Pamor and belongs to Pamor Miring. The picture represents a Manusia. You often find this pamor at the Sor-Soran and there are several motives. For the general public this pamor is between Wos Wutah and Pulo Tirto. The power of this pamor protects against property loss and evil spirits. More about his pamor you can see here.

Rajamala, Ukiran

is a type of handle. It represents the head of Rajamala, a person from a wayang story. In the past this kind of handle was used only by officials of the Keraton.

Raja Kamkam

is a pamor you find in Madura and East Java. It is found only in the Sor-Soran of a keris and it extends up to the Ganja. It is very similar to pamor Ujung Gunung but it has only a "summit". In the center you will find a circle as in Udan Mas in the middle of Ganja. This pamor has a positive power and protect the possession. You get more informations here.

Raja Temenang

is a pamor you find in Madura and some areas of East Java. The image represents some circles like Udan Mas. This pamor can be found in the center of the Ganja over the hole for the Pesi. It belongs to pamor Rekan and also to pamor Mlumah. It has positive magic power to enlarge the possession.

Raja Werdi

is an ornament of a pendok with colorful stones. In a pendok blewahan it is called Rinaja Varna or Rinaja Werdi. Previously, this  was only for people who were close to the king. Therefore, these pendok is not well known.

Ramayadi, Empu

or often called Empu Ramadi lived in the era of Kedewatan. In ancient keris book you read that he made weapons for the gods on the orders of Batara Guru.

Rambang, Empu

was an Empu, see Pangeran Sedayu, Empu.

Randa Besar

is called an error of a keris with an opening / gap in the Sor-Soran when the Ganja is inserted.

Rangga

or also called Rengga is the Dapur of a Tombak with 5 Luk. It has Ada-Ada, which is sufficiently clear and a trace of a close Sogokan. The blade is quite thick. Below you will find two Tojolan like a Lambe Gajah at a keris.

Rangga, Kanjeng Kyai

is a Pusaka Tombak owned by Puro Pakualaman Yogyakarta. It has three Luk and has kinatah gold at the Sor-Soran and near the Metuk.

Rara Siduwa

is a Dapur of a keris with 5 Luk. It is also called Lara Siduwa or Rara Sidupa. The shape is quite peculiar. Below the blade is straight and the Luk begin until the middle of the blade. It has no Ada Ada but only a Pejetan. It is a rare Dapur and is found only in ancient krisses.

Rare Kagok, Ukiran

is a form of a handle for a keris of Surakarta. It is a form that has been carved until the middle of the 20th century and it matches to the warangka Sandang Walikat. It is similar in shape as handles from Bali.

Regol

is the Dapur of a straight keris. The blade length is normal but quite thick, since it has no Ada-Ada. The indicator is twice Gandik front and rear. The Ganja has a particular shape. It is a rare Dapur and can be found in ancient krisses.

Regol, Kanjeng Kyai

is a Pusaka keris owned by the Kraton Yogyakarta. It has the Dapur Bondan according to the statements of the Keraton. But this is not an official name for a Dapur, it is true-likely a Keris Kalawijan. The warangka is made of Trembalo wood and has  a pendok pendok blewahan made of gold.

Rejeng, Empu

is a known Empu of Surakarta in the era of regencies Paku Buwono V. to Paku Buwono VII. He has therefore become very old.

Rekan, Pamor

is a type of pamor, which is preformed from Empu. Most of the pamors are created only on the customer's request. Some examples of the pamor Rekan are e.g. Blarak Ngirid, Ri Wader, Ron Genduru, Udan Mas, Kupu Tarung, Uler Lulut and Bonang Sarentaeng. According to keris experts this pamor is more valuable than pamor Tiban.

Rencong

is a traditional weapon in the area of Aceh and can be worn for complement of the clothing. It is worn reverse Sarung on his stomach. Many ancient rencong have pamor and usually the pamor Sanak. From the late 19th century the rencong is usually made without pamor and there will be more attention to the quality of the iron. In the war with the Dutch in Aceh 1873 - 1904 the soldiers there used rencong.

Radya Pustaka Museum

is the oldest museum in Indonesia. It is located on Jalan Slamet Riyadi in Solo and was opened on 10-28-1890. There you will find many Pustaka eshibits.
